Welcome to Madeline’s Recs — where the better part of a decade in commerce experience gets summed into a weekly email around what content I’m consuming and my wishlist. This used to be a very popular newsletter when I’ve done it in the past and I’m excited to continue it during this new chapter at SCOUT.
Every week, you can expect recs from me — if there’s anything you’d want to see more from us, definitely let me know.
What I’m adding to my Collections (eyeing and buying) heading into spring:
Shark Facial Pro: I’ve had this in my Wishlist Collection in Scout and I waited for a price drop during last week’s Sephora sale.
Relaxed Fit Jean Shorts (White): This Agolde mom jean pair is everything I’m craving for my spring and summer wardrobe— updated and comfortable. Planning to get a light wash denim color as well. This Zara pair is also pretty fab — going to try these too since they are a much better price.
Flip flop kitten heel sandal perfect for transitioning to summer
This Toteme purse for spring
Cashmere sweaters from Quince to layer and wrap around my neck for easy layering. You really can’t beat that price.
Up next week, going to share more of what is on my Cotswalds + London wishlist. Stay tuned!
What I’m listening to:
Whitney Wolfe Herd on How To Build a Billion Dollar Business - The Bossticks
The Retailer That’s Obsessed With AI - The Debrief
The Workers Letting AI Do Their Jobs - The Daily
What I’m reading:
The Body Keeps the Score - The science behind how trauma stays with us long after an experience is over.
Strangers - Just started this book that has completely gripped my corner of the internet. Excited to be reading a non-business book!
Where I’m headed (Nashville):
We moved to Nashville at the end of December and since then, we’ve been making great progress in trying out all that Nashville has to offer (mainly through food). Here are our favorites since our move:
Sushi San — sitting at the Sushi counter is essential for this rec. Makes for the most entertaining dinner we’ve had since our move! We love it.
Perenn — bakery and cafe by day, European-inspired dinners on weekends by night.
Southall — We did a spa day when my mom came to visit, followed by their weekend brunch. It was a home run day — highly recommend. I love that they have monthly events and a calendar full of different things to do all year long.
White’s Mercantile — Been loving this shop for home inspo as well as trying to figure out which cookbooks to add to my collection.
Who I’m following:
Talia Kazarian: A creator whose travel guides give me wanderlust in the best kind of way.
Kayla Breeden Falconer: Hosting inspo with her series “Cordially” that inspired some spring hosting I’ve been up to myself.
Erica Wenger - VC at Park Rangers Capital that gives great advice for founders.
Hope you have a great weekend!
